Aksu Bora’s Narrative: In the Poetic World of Gülten Akın
Gülten Akın… “I have a Gülten left in me; no matter which vineyard I plant her in, she remains a stranger.”
At FMV Işık High School, our 11th and 12th grade IBDP students participated in an in-depth literary discussion on the poetic world of Gülten Akın, led by the esteemed academic Aksu Bora.
During the event, students explored the poet’s strong social consciousness and her focus on themes such as women, migration, poverty, and individual suffering. Through close readings of her texts, they examined her distinctive poetic language and multi-layered narrative voice, further developing their critical thinking and analytical skills.
As FMV Işık High School, we remain committed to bringing our students together with the intellectual and aesthetic depth of literature.
