Developed with this vision in mind, PARLA – the Digital Education, Development and Management System – brings together data on our students’ academic progress, competencies, skills, and other areas of development on a single platform, enabling their educational journeys to be monitored in a holistic and systematic manner.
With PARLA, we bring together the different dimensions of student development within a shared digital ecosystem, providing our students, teachers, parents, and administrators with a holistic perspective. From school management processes to teaching and learning activities, assessment and evaluation to curriculum management, communication to project and competency management, we bring together the diverse components of educational life within an integrated structure. In doing so, we provide our school community with quick and easy access to the information and processes they need.
At the heart of PARLA is the student’s development journey. Academic data, projects, competitions, club activities, community service initiatives, certificates, out-of-school learning experiences, competencies, and personal portfolios come together within a single student profile. Through the Student 360 approach, our aim is to move beyond evaluating students solely on the basis of academic data, enabling us to understand each student holistically through their knowledge, skills, experiences, interests, competencies, and areas for growth, and to support their individual development.
For our teachers, PARLA provides an integrated environment where lessons, content, assignments, assessments, projects, and student progress can be managed within a shared workspace. For our parents, it offers a strong communication and monitoring platform through which they can access clear and regular updates on their children’s school life and development journey.
The project and competency management framework within the platform makes the connection between our students’ work and the skills and competencies they develop visible. Based on the World Economic Forum’s competency framework, this structure enables the systematic monitoring of our students’ development in areas such as analytical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, leadership, adaptability, and digital literacy.
Through the e-portfolio, our students’ work over the years, achievements and certificates, projects, and diverse learning experiences become part of a lasting record of their development. By making learning experiences beyond the school, as well as work carried out within the school, visible, PARLA enables each student’s development journey to be presented in a more comprehensive and realistic way.
Another key strength of PARLA lies in its assessment and evaluation processes. The ability to manage paper-based and online assessment results within the same system, track development data alongside records from previous periods, and connect different data sources enables our teachers to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their students and monitor their development more closely. Parents, in turn, can follow their children’s development not only through outcomes, but also through their progress over time, gaining a more holistic view of their learning journey.
