From the School Principal

Dear Işık students,

It was 1885, Thessaloniki... Our school, which first started its education in Thessaloniki, moved to Istanbul immediately after the Balkan Wars and the First World War and started a brand new era with the first teachers and students of the Republic. This deep-rooted sycamore, which was founded 139 years ago with the aim of enlightening Turkish children with “Işık” and has existed since then with a philosophy that aims to raise “Good Citizens First”, has set out today to shed light on the future with its Florya Campus.

Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, Florya Işık Campus, combining its deep-rooted tradition from the past with a modern education approach, has never deviated from its aim of breaking new ground in education since the day it was opened, without compromising Atatürk's principles and revolutions for a moment. It enlightens the field of education in order to raise individuals who are tolerant towards different cultures, who care about lifelong learning, who are productive, interested in global and local issues, who question, are forward-thinking and well-equipped.

As has been the case for 139 years, we prepare our students for life not only academically but also in many social, cultural, artistic, sportive and technological fields with a program enriched with national and international standards. We are always proud of our students we raise as happy individuals who are professionally very strong and well-equipped under the guidance of our teachers following Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Head Teacher, and who have the awareness and excitement of lifelong learning.

We have no doubt that the efforts we make to raise all our students as intellectually and socially developed, academically successful, self-confident individuals with our high-level education program with a global perspective in our school, which has versatile social and academic learning opportunities, will be rewarded in the next centuries of our Republic.

We hope to have a beautiful future where every young person shines with the difference they make as a member of the Işık family and the torch of Işık illuminates our country.
