With the participation of our Preparatory class students from FMV Özel Işık High School, we organized a visit to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Dersaadet Library within the scope of the 61st Library Week. During the visit, students were warmly welcomed with refreshments and gifts, accompanied by our school's library specialist and Turkish language and literature teacher. They took part in a comprehensive library orientation. During the tour, the students were introduced to the library’s collections and had the opportunity to closely examine rare works. The students selected books with themes related to Istanbul and poetry, and worked directly with the library’s resources. They transferred promotional texts of the selected works onto worksheets, made quotations, and practiced preparing citations in MLA format. This meaningful activity, aimed at improving our students' library usage and academic research skills, was completed in an informative and enjoyable way.
