The event titled “Inclusive Communities, Acceptance and Connections for Individuals with Disabilities” to be held within the scope of April 2 World Autism Day will be for our 9th grade students of Işık Schools. The guest speaker Carrie Martell is a Coordinator of Special Education services for Harrisonburg City Public Schools in Virginia. The webinar will not only raise awareness for individuals with learning disabilities in the school community, but it will also provide background support for Mark Haddon's novel "The Curious Incident Of the Dog In the Night-time", which is about the life of an autistic teenager read by our students in their 9th grade English literature classes.
