October 6th Liberation of Istanbul
Istanbul redeemed its freedom on October 6, 1923, after 4 years, 10 months, and 23 days of occupation. This was due to the courage and determination of the Anatolian people who fought for years. FMV Işık High School 9th-grade students carried out a history project to comprehend the experiences of the Turkish people who were under occupation in Istanbul. Within the scope of the project, students watched historical documentaries, researched, and wrote a composition to raise awareness about the Liberation of Istanbul. At the end of the project, the student who wrote the best letter was selected and had the privilege to read their letter to their classmates, giving them a glimpse of a significant period in history.
