We are honored to hold the “FMV Private Erenköy Işık Science High School Opening Lecture”, which is a tradition of our school, with Prof. Dr. R. Didem TAYLAN SAYGILI, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Faculty of Education, MEF University. In the opening lecture titled “Mathematical Literacy”, our esteemed teacher Mrs. Didem TAYLAN SAYGILI explained the connection between the 21st century skills that students should acquire and mathematical literacy with examples from daily life and made us understand once again that analytical intelligence is important not only in the academic field but also in our lives. We would like to thank Prof. Dr. R. Didem TAYLAN SAYGILI, who made us realize the importance of being curious, pursuing our dreams, having our own hobbies as well as being present on behalf of the society we live in, and shedding light on us with her valuable sharing.
