For May 19 Youth and Sports Day Activities, on Wednesday May 10, 2023 the event titled ‘’What Did I Learn About Life From a Game?’’ was moderated by our 12th grade student Alperen Khamis at Muvaffak Benderli Conference Hall. Our guest speaker, Mehmet Altıoklar (PCC, ACPC, Leader Coach, Educator, Producer) held a talk between 14:00-15:00 with High School Prep, 9, 10 and 11 grade students. Mehmet Altıoklar played on the Galatasaray Basketball Team and the national team for many years with a professional athletic background. Our guest talked about how sports can have an impact on success in many different career fields. He explained that this outcome was not one of coincidence. He later emphasized with examples from his life that having certain traits contributed to success, such as being a gentleman, warrior, adventurer, openness to learning, independence, bravery and compassion. With the experiences he shared in the interview, he gave the message to our students that “Everything you need to be the hero of your own life is hidden within you”.
