As FMV Işık High School, we once again showed how much we value Yaşar Kemal with the commemoration event we organized for his 100th birthday.Our event, which started with the exhibition of our students' paintings and digital works in the main foyer of Muvaffak Benderli Conference Hall, continued with our presentations at the auditorium. Our event, which started with the presentation prepared by the 9th graders based on the book “Filler Sultanı ile Kırmızı Sakallı Topal Karınca” in the first part of our hall event, continued with a musical concert by our students. In the second part, our 10th grade students made a presentation titled "Myths and Motifs in Turkish and World Literature" based on the work "Three Anatolian Legends" by Yaşar Kemal. At the finale of our event, our guest of honor Ayşe Semiha Baban Gökçeli spoke to us about Yaşar Kemal and his understanding of literature. We would like to thank the Yaşar Kemal Foundation, who did not leave us alone in this meaningful event, and the Department of Turkish Language and Literature who contributed to our work, and our students who added meaning to the event.
