The importance of natural resources in our daily lives can not be denied. Nor can our waste and squander of them through thoughtless use and habits. This was the topic of discussion on Monday 26th of February when Grade 2, 3 and 4 students came together in Muvaffak Benderli Salonu.

After much careful research Yağız Aras Gözcü (4A), Deniz İpek Zeynioğlu (4A), Deniz Gürsoy (4B) and Zeynep Eşkinat (4C) presented their findings to a very interested audience.

Aras spoke about the importance of water and how human activity pollutes and endangers this. Deniz İpek told us about Natural Gas; it's origins, it's importance in our everyday lives and the importance of using this resource wisely because it is a non-renewable source of energy. Deniz continued on this theme by talking about both renewable and non-renewable natural resources. He commented on their countries of origin and how human activity impacts them. He suggested ways in which we might change our habits to preserve some of these precious resources. Zeynep told us about Energy. She told us how it was an integral part of our everyday lives. She explained about the renewable and non-renewable sources of energy and how we waste it. She finished by suggesting ways we might change our habits to save energy.

Finally, everyone watched a short presentation on how to save trees by the simple act of changing how much paper towel we use to dry our hands.
